photo challenge | family fun

I’ve been away from the photo blog for a while – preparing for, celebrating, and cleaning up after the Christmas season.  But I’m back this week throwing my hat in the ring for the latest I Heart Faces photo challenge – family fun!  This is one of my favorite session images from this fall.  This family makes being a photog so very easy!Image

What a gorgeous evening to go for a stroll around the beautiful college campus.  The evening was made all the more beautiful by a sweet, happy baby and her very loving parents.  Enjoy the previews!

I just love this family.  So much fun to photograph.  Spunky preschooler, sweet squishy baby, photogenic laid back parents, great house full of bright morning light.  Enjoy the previews!

{please don’t pick the} flowers

You know what’s great about photo shoots in public gardens? The flowers.  You know what makes it hard for kids having their photos taken in public gardens? The flowers.  So many kids just want to pick them, and who can blame them?  They are so large and colorful and tempting.  Often parents and I have to gently steer little hands away, reminding them to leave the flowers for the next visitors to enjoy.  One way I try to console kids, especially little girls, is to “pick” the flowers with my camera.  I love to photograph the flowers, and seeing a photo of the flower they wanted to pick can often be just as satisfying.  After “picking” lots of flowers over many sessions, I thought I would make a bouquet for you.  Enjoy!

Session Samples | {raleigh} mommy & me

Whew! I’m a little behind on the blogging.  Here are some samples from a sweet little mommy and me session I did on one of these recent warm mornings at the park.  I thought this was a great way to preserve some special memories between mommy and child.

Sneak Peek | Raleigh {family} Portraits

It was a gorgeous morning at the park, made all the more so by this sweet family!  I think most of the area family, bridal and nature photographers were out there that day, so we had to be a little patient making our way through the park, but our patience paid off.  Enjoy the previews!

Sneak Peek | morrisville {newborn} photography

What a beautiful morning for some outdoor newborn photos!  When big brother saw how sleepy and content the baby became in the nice warm shade, he decided to join in the coziness, camping out right by his side for most of the morning, blankets, pillow and all.  I think it is so funny that looking at the photos you would never know that big brother was probably just inches away!  Thanks for inviting me over to meet the baby ~ I thoroughly enjoyed myself!

Sneak Peek | Raleigh {family} Portraits

I love this family, and I love green.  So it only stands to reason that I love these pictures!  The azaleas may have no longer been blooming, but we added plenty of our own color to the garden.  Enjoy the previews!
